ANCIENT GREECE - GREEK
Kingdom of Bactria, Menander I Soter (160–135 BC). Indian-weight drachma, undated.
Obverse: ΒΑΣIΛΕΩΣ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΜΕΝΑΝΔΡΟΥ. Bust wearing a diadem and helmet, draped, facing right, seen in three-quarter profile.
Reverse: “Maharajasa tratarasa / Menamdrasa” in Kharosthi script. Athena Alkidemos walking to the left, brandishing a thunderbolt in her right hand and holding a shield in front of her with her left hand; monogram on the right.

Beautifully struck. This specimen has hardly been in circulation. Lovely patina with golden highlights. Superb, in mint condition.
