Massilia – Marseille. Hemiobole with a head shown in full face, undated (480–460 BC), Marseille.
Obverse: Head facing forward (wearing a cap).
Reverse: Hollow square.
Dicomon OBA-L - Furtwängler L - LT.48; Silver - 0.59 g - 8.5 mm - 12 h
Acquired from DZP [Derzypolsky] in April 2003. Type from the Auriol hoard discovered in 1867.
Very well centred, in high relief, with a lovely dark patina. Superb.
