GAUL - CELTIC Massilia – Marseille. Hemiobol with a Gorgoneion head, ND (500–470 BC), Marseille. Obverse: Gorgoneion head facing forwards. Reverse: Hollow square. Dicomon OBA-M - Furtwängler M - LT.87; Silver - 0.61 g - 7 mm - 12 h Acquired in 1985. Type from the Auriol hoard discovered in 1867. Slightly off-centre strike. With a dark patina. Very Good to Superb.
