Massilia – Marseille. Obol, head facing left with sideburns, ND (215–49 BC), Marseille.
Obverse: Juvenile head facing left, with sideburns, curly hair.
Reverse: Four-spoked wheel, with Μ and Α in two of the quarters.

Acquired from Daussy (Stéphane Dhaussy) in 1989.
Of very fine style: the sideburn is incorporated into the hair, which flows down and merges with the ear. Beautiful, lustrous patina. Superb in mint condition.
