Massilia – Marseille. Heavy drachma with a lion facing right (240–215 BC), Marseille.
Obverse: Bust of Artemis facing right, wearing earrings and a pearl necklace.
Reverse: ΜAΣΣΑ. Lion facing right; a dot beneath the belly.

Acquired from PLM in 1989.
Variant with a dot beneath the lion. Some rust spots on the reverse. Minimal scratches on the obverse and around the lion on the reverse. Beautiful old grey patina. Rare. Very Good to Superb.
