GAUL - CELTIC Massilia – Marseille. Light drachma or tetrabole, incuse strike, ND (150–125 BC), Marseille. Obverse: Draped and diademed bust of Artemis facing right, wearing earrings and a pearl necklace; behind her, a quiver and a bow. Reverse: The same figure in intaglio. MHM.37 v. – Brenot types 30–38; Silver – 2.7 g – 16 mm – 12 h Acquired from Cossettini in 2002. Clear incuse strike on the reverse, slightly off-centre. Slightly faint strike at the top of the obverse, and some scraping. Beautiful patina. Almost Superb.
