GAUL - CELTIC Massilia - Marseille. Light drachma or tetrabole ND (150–125 BC), Marseille. Obverse: Draped and diademed bust of Artemis facing right, wearing earrings and a pearl necklace; behind her, a quiver and a bow; in front, the letters ΦΚ. Reverse: ΜΑΣΣΑ / ΛΙΗΤΩΝ. Lion facing right; ΦΚ in front. MHM.38/10 - Dicomon DRM-38-10 - Brenot type 42; Silver - 2.73 g - 16 mm - 6 h Acquired from DZP [Derzypolsky] in 1997. The strike is slightly off-centre. This specimen has seen virtually no circulation, with a delicate golden patina over the original lustre. Superb in Proof condition.
