GAUL - CELTIC
Massilia - Marseille. Light drachma or tetrabole, with a bust of the Virgin Mary crowned with an olive wreath (150–125 BC), Marseille.
Obverse: Head of Artemis facing right, crowned with an olive wreath, wearing earrings and a pearl necklace; behind her, a quiver and a bow.
Reverse: ΜΑΣΣΑ. Lion facing right; H H in the exergue.

Acquired from Jean Vinchon Numismatique in 2002.
Very fine style, with an olive or laurel wreath on the obverse (cf. MDC 16 no. 238 = €4,400 + fees). Slightly off-centre strike on the obverse and an irregular flan. Dark patina. Very Good to Superb.
