GAUL - CELTIC
Lower Normandy / Baïocasses, uncertain. Quarter-stater with a staff as a crest, ND (late 2nd – 1st century BC).
Obverse: Right-facing profile, of Apollonian origin, stylised, surmounted by a head of hair with two S-shaped locks and a staff as a crest (attached to a beaded cord).
Reverse: Androcephalic horse on the right, driven by the remains of a charioteer; between its legs, a beaded semicircle.

Fairly well centred, this electrum quarter-stater is not associated with any known stater. It is attributed to Lower Normandy. With a grey patina, barely tinged with gold. Appears to be unique. Superb / TTB.
