GAUL - CELTIC Lower Normandy / Baïocasses, uncertain. Denarius bearing the inscription CEΠΠΙΙΟC / CEPPEO, Class II with a beaded ring marked ND (1st century BC). Obverse: Profile to the left, with an almond-shaped eye, large locks of hair surmounted by small, rounded locks; the lock on the forehead ending in a large bezant, and a horn-shaped lock on the cheek (paragnatide?). Reverse: [CEΠ-Π]. Horse facing left, with a broad beaded mane, one ring in front, two rings beneath the tail and a beaded and pointed ring beneath the belly. DT.- - LT.J.43 - Cahiers Numismatiques 208 and 215; Silver – 1.86 g – 12 mm – 12 h Acquired from Séb. Prat in 2008 as “unpublished”.
