GAUL - CELTIC Baïocasses. Quarter-stater of electrum, bearing a lyre and a wheel, ND (150–50 BC). Obverse: Profile to the right, with an inverted lyre as a crest; the figure has hair in two heavy locks and is surrounded by beaded cords. Reverse: An androcephalic horse galloping to the left, surmounted by a highly stylised charioteer with clasped arms, holding a rein ending in a vexillum; beneath the horse, a large wheel with hubs and eight spokes.
