Description
GAUL - CELTIC Aulerques Cénomans. Quinar or minimi with the head of Pallas; reverse showing a mound with ‘ND’ (late first half of the 1st century BC). Obv. Helmeted profile of Pallas facing right, with a stylised helmet and dotted hair. Rev. Galloping horse facing right, surmounted by the remains of a charioteer reduced to a reclining ‘S’ and, below, a mound formed of three semicircles. DT.2365A - LT.-; Silver - 0.43 g - 10 mm - 1 h Acquired from S. Prat in 2011. Appears to be a quinarius given this weight. Beautifully struck, with a lovely grey patina. Superb.
