GAUL - CELTIC Aulerci Eburovices. Hemistater with a wild boar, var. 4 ND (early 1st century BC to the Gallic Wars). Obverse. Laureate head facing left, the hair formed of two rows of globules, between two beaded lines forming a V; the nose, in left-facing profile, is marked by the outer edge of the eye’s triangle and topped with a globule. A globule between the legs of the small boar, depicted upside down beneath the nape of the neck. Reverse: A horse on the right driven by a highly stylised charioteer; between his legs, a boar on the right with a globule between its legs; in front of the chest, a beaded rosette. DT.2402 = this specimen! - LT. - - Scheers pl. IV no. 33; Gold - 3.23 g - 18 mm - 8 h Acquired from S. Prat in 2002. This is the specimen illustrated in *Nouvel Atlan* no. 2402.
