Description
GAUL - CELTIC Bituriges coins. Quinar, Class I, with the inscription CAMBOTRE ND (c. 80–50 BC). Obverse: Head facing left, wearing a diadem, hair in three thick locks at the nape of the neck; a pearl necklace around the neck. Reverse: CA-MBOTR-E. Horse facing left, with a gladius resting horizontally above it. DT.3433 – LT.4131; Silver – 1.93 g – 15.5 mm – 10 h Acquired from Platt in 1987. On an irregular blank, the strike is slightly off-centre. With a lovely iridescent grey patina. Superb.
