GAUL - CELTIC Bituriges / Lemovices. Drachma featuring a wolf and a triskelion, a type derived from the Bridiers ND (late 2nd – early 1st century BC). Obverse. A beautifully styled female profile facing left, with hair in neatly arranged, curled locks, wearing a pearl necklace and with a linear, curved neckline. Reverse: Realistic horse galloping to the right. Above, a wolf facing right; below, a triskelion formed of three hooks with rounded ends. DT.3338 – BN 6014 – Nash 67; Silver – 3.79 g – 15.5 mm – 5 h Acquired from S. Werochowski in 2017. This type is attributed to the western part of the Bituriges territories. Made of good metal and in a realistic style, this drachma is of remarkable quality, with an anthracite patina. Superb / Superb, near-mint.
