GAUL - CELTIC Lemovices. Stater featuring a crane and a shamrock, Class II, bust facing right, var. 2a ND (1st century BC). Obverse: Bust facing right, wearing a headdress with large curled locks ending in pointed loops; the eye is almond-shaped with a pupil; a pearl necklace around the neck. Reverse: Horse facing left, with one front leg raised, surmounted on the croup by a crane facing left. A pointed loop in front of the horse and, below, a trilobed floret. DT.3409 - Castelin/Zürich 165–167; Gold – 7.07 g – 19.5 mm – 6 h In rose gold or electrum. Beautifully struck with sharp relief; the flan is barely concave. Condition: Very Fine to Superb.
