GAUL - CELTIC Peoples of the Atlantic coast. Quinary (fractional) coin featuring a human head within a wolf’s muzzle, ND (150–50 BC). Obverse. A wolf’s mouth with visible teeth, open to the right and holding, between its jaws, a small human head to the right. Above and below, what appear to be tufts of the wolf’s fur, shaped like crescents. Reverse: Seahorse on the right, with a bird’s head and a prominent eye. DT.3697 = this specimen!; Silver – 0.99 g – 12 mm – 8 h Acquired from SW [Stéphane Werochowski] in 2005. This is the specimen illustrated in the *Nouvel Atlas*, plate XXXI, no. 3697. Shows even wear, with an aged patina. Rare. Very good to very good-plus condition.
