GAUL - CELTIC Cadurci. Obole with a triangular head, ND (2nd–1st centuries BC). Obverse. Triangular head facing left, the eye within a triangle, surmounted by ball-tipped locks of hair, and a ball-tipped ‘V’ for the mouth. Reverse: A beaded cross flanked at the 1, 2 and 4 o’clock positions by a crescent and at the 3 o’clock position by a beaded axe facing left. Savès 421 v. – LT.3373 v. – Hiriart 54.03; Silver – 0.44 g – 9.5 mm – 4 h Very well centred on the obverse, with a delicate patina. The reverse is slightly off-centre but complete for the type. Superb.
