GAUL - CELTIC Ruteni. Drachma featuring a small curly-haired head and a wild boar, ND (c. 121–52 BC). Obverse: Small stylised head facing left, with curly hair; all set within a wreath. Reverse: A running boar to the left between two beaded rings. Savès 440 – LT.3433; Silver – 2.22 g – 16 mm – 12 h Acquired from Cossettini in 2000. On a quadrangular blank, with a clear strike, showing the entire head and almost the entire wreath on the obverse. The patina is dark. Superb.
