GAUL - CELTIC Ruteni. Drachma featuring a wild boar, ‘de Fouzilhon’ type, ND (c. 121–52 BC). Obverse: Head facing left with hair arranged in two rows of twisted locks, set against an outer border of acorns. Reverse: Boar facing left with bristling bristles; below, a crescent (?). Savès 446 bis - LT.- - Lopez/Rutènes variant 1 p.43; Silver – 2.1 g – 13 mm – 10 h From an old collection sold at Drouot, appraised by A. Weil, then CGB in 2016 (bga_402905). On a quadrangular blank cut with shears. The motifs are well centred for this type. Beautiful patina with golden highlights. Almost Superb.
