GAUL - CELTIC Sotiates. Drachma bearing the curly-haired head of Causé ND (120–60 BC). Obverse: Head facing left, the hair arranged in a single row of intertwined ‘esses’; two globules in place of the mouth. Reverse: A ball-headed cross forming four quarters; an ‘esse’ in the second quarter, a globule with a crescent in the fourth quarter, a dotted ring between two globules (?) in the third quarter. Savès 236–237 v. – Hiriart 10.05 to 10.07; Silver – 2.87 g – 16 mm – 1 h On a rectangular blank, cut with shears. The portrait is clearly visible; only the first quarter on the reverse is missing. A few green deposits on the obverse. With a deep grey patina. Very Good to Superb.
