GAUL - CELTIC Sotiates. Drachma featuring a wolf and the title of King Adiatuanos ND (c. 60–50 BC). Obverse: [RE]X ADIETVAN[VS FE]. Traces of a head borrowed from Élusate coins. Rev. SOTIOTA. A wolf facing left. Savès 515 – LT.3605 – Dicomon SOT-3605; Silver – 2.79 g – 15.5 mm - 10 h Acquired from J.-L. Cougnard in 2008. With almost complete inscriptions. Good centring on the obverse, slightly off-centre strike on the reverse. With a dark patina. TTB. Adiatuanos was a king of the Sotiates, who reigned around 56 BC. The territory of the Sotiates is roughly situated in the region of Sos, south of the Garonne. He is mentioned by Caesar in *The Gallic Wars* (III, 22)
