GAUL - CELTIC
Volques Tectosages. Drachma bearing the Iberian inscription ‘Untikia ND’ (225–150 BC).
Obverse: Bust facing right, wearing a pearl necklace.
Reverse: A ball-headed cross in the centre, flanked by four sling bullets surmounted by the Iberian letters “VN TI KI A”.

Acquired from Bourgey in 1986.
On an oblong flan, with a small protrusion of metal. The top of the bust is missing, but the reverse, bearing the Iberian legend, is complete! Beautiful grey patina. Very rare. Very Good Condition / Superb.
Inscription: ‘Untikia’ or ‘Auntiki’, depending on the author. Only a few examples are known, with just one discovered during excavations: the Béziers Treasure, cited by Élodie Paris, *Revue Archéologique de Narbonnaise*, supplement 56, no. 106. Only two examples cited by Hiriart, BnF = De Luynes and Luzech collections (Lot)
