GAUL - CELTIC Longostaletes. Drachma, early series featuring crescent moons, comma-shaped strands and the ND floral motif (240–190 BC). Obverse. Head facing left, hair scattered in strands and composed of comma-shaped locks, with an outer border of small dots. Reverse: A ball-headed cross in the centre, flanked by a floral motif (lily) in the second quarter and three crescent moons; a bezant in the crescent of the third quarter. Savès 276 = this specimen! - Hiriart 1.10; Silver – 3.54 g – 16.5 mm – 4 h From the G. Savès collection, illustrated in his book under no. 276, and subsequently sold at an auction in Bordeaux on 20 May 2006. On a fairly large blank, with a slightly off-centre strike.
