GAUL - CELTIC Allobroges. Drachma featuring a ibex, Class II with a sword on the reverse (late 2nd – first quarter of the 1st century BC). Obverse: Laureate head of Apollo facing left. Reverse: Ibex on the left with long horns drawn back; two flowers beneath the animal’s head and a sword between its legs. DT.3105-3106 – BnF. 2888-2900; Silver – 2.38 g – 15 mm – 5 h Acquired from Cossettini in 1998. Beautifully struck on a fairly large flan. With a pleasing grey patina. Almost superb.
