GAUL - CELTIC Arverni. Drachma featuring an unidentified four-legged animal beneath the horse ND (2nd–1st centuries BC). Obverse: Profile to the left, rectangular, with curly locks arranged in several vertical, parallel rows. Reverse: Leaping horse to the right. Below, facing right, a crudely stylised animal with a sort of beak. DT.3541 = this specimen! – BN.3825-3826; Silver – 2.3 g – 13 mm – 6 h Acquired in Amiens in 1980. This is the specimen illustrated in the *Nouvel Atlas*, plate XXIV, no. 3541. With a square profile, the hair is depicted in vertical braided strands. Beautiful antique patina. Very rare. Very Good Condition.
