Description
GAUL - CELTIC Arverni. Drachma bearing the inscription EPAD, Class I ND (1st century BC). Obverse: Female profile, wearing a diadem and draped with a pearl necklace, facing right; in the foreground, a lituus. Reverse: ‘EPAD’ in the exergue. A horseman galloping to the right; above, a sort of flowing cloak. DT.3593 - LT.3885; Silver - 2.34 g - 17 mm - 11 h Acquired from Bonvallet in 1983. On an oblong flan, with the designs well centred. Slight grey patina. Condition: Very Fine to Superb.
