GAUL - CELTIC Arverni. Quintus featuring a standing warrior, with the inscription EPAD, Class I ND (after 52 BC). Obverse: EPAD. Bust facing right, wearing a laurel wreath and a helmet with a long plume falling down onto the neck alongside three twisted locks of hair. A beaded necklace adorned with pendants around the neck and the upper part of a garment. Reverse: Standing warrior in Roman armour, holding a standard in his right hand and a shield and spear in his left, his helmet resting at his feet. DT.3605 – LT.3900; Silver – 1.89 g – 13.5 mm – 12 h Acquired in 2008 from T. Parsy. With the legend on the obverse and in very good condition. Slight wear and a lovely grey collector’s patina. Almost superb.
