GAUL - CELTIC Aedui. Quinaris with a helmeted head, Class I, with the base of the neck decorated with ‘ND’ (late 2nd century BC). Obverse: Helmeted head facing left, a ball-and-spike cross behind the nape of the neck. Reverse: Horse facing left, a drawbar in front of the chest adorned with a centred ring; a wheel above the back and a pointed ring between the legs. DT.3187 = this specimen! - LT.5138 v.; Silver - 1.48 g - 12.5 mm - 8 h Acquired from Chauchoy in 1986. This is the specimen illustrated in the *Nouvel Atlas* no. 3187. High relief on both the obverse and reverse. With a dark patina. Superb.
