GAUL - CELTIC Central-eastern and eastern Celtic regions. Quarter-stater of the ‘Besançon type’, featuring a beaded triskelion with the letters ND (2nd century BC). Obverse: Apollonian profile to the right, with hair in thick locks. Motif on the cheek ending in three dots. Besant in front of the nose. Pointed triangular motif with rounded corners on the neck. Reverse: Chariot with a single horse, driven by a charioteer. Beneath the horse, a triskelion with rounded ends.
