GAUL - CELTIC Bellovaci. Silver quarter-stater or light denarius, featuring a highly stylised head and a lyre (?) ND (1st century BC). Obverse. Highly stylised head facing right, formed of a semicircle with the eye depicted as a bezant surmounted by pointed rings connected to the bezant; below, the remnant of a laurel wreath. Obverse: A galloping horse facing left, surmounted by a lyre (a sort of crescent with points topped by small rings, strings? in the centre); a star beneath the belly. DT.- (cf. 284) - LT.- - *Mélanges Colbert de Beaulieu*, p. 273, no. 75 (from La Buissière, municipality of Bruay-en-Artois (62)); Silver – 1.1 g – 12 mm – 3 h Acquired from Séb.
