GAUL - CELTIC
Remes (1st century BC). Stater with the ‘ND’ eye (100–50 BC).
Obverse. Head facing right, with an enlarged eye at the centre of a design covering the entire surface of the obverse. To the right, three radiant stars.
Reverse: A horse facing left, in a figurative style, with beaded joints on its legs and a three-strand tail forming part of the decorative motif. Above, a beaded angle within a heart-shaped beaded motif. Below, a small ring centred on a dot, surrounded by a beaded circle. In front of the head, a small beaded square adorned with a cross and a star in front of the horse. Beneath the horse, a ground line formed of dots.
