GAUL - CELTIC
Danube (Lower Danube). Tetradrachm bearing a head of Apollo facing forwards (imitation of Larissa) ND (2nd–1st centuries BC).
Obverse: Head of Apollo facing forward, with long hair.
Reverse: Small horseman on the left, on a horse walking; above, a small rosette (?) and below, an ear of corn (?).

Acquired from Charlet in 1985.
An imitation of a Larissa coin for the Getae and Dacians (Geto-Dacians) in what is now Romania. A fine portrait. A few deposits on the reverse and a pleasant patina. Very Good to Superb condition.
