GAUL - CELTIC Britain, Regini and the Atrebates. Single-sided stater featuring a wheel with the letters ‘ND’ (55–45 BC). Obverse: Smooth protrusion in the centre. Obverse: Horse facing right, a six-spoked wheel between its legs; above, a stylised charioteer with three large globules, a centred oval in front of the horse’s head and a second beneath its tail. LT. missing – DT. – (cf. series 26, reverse of the Suessiones) - VA 216-1 - Spink 39; Gold - 5.77 g - 19 mm - 12 h From the Trampitsch collection, 14–15 November 1986, lot 324, then the Daniel Féret collection, Drouot, 24–25 November 1994, lot 473, then the T. Parsy sale, Drouot, 18 November 1999, lot 115. Featuring a smooth obverse and a reverse bearing the Suessiones’ six-spoked wheel motif. The concave reverse is well-preserved. Beautiful golden patina. Excellent provenance and rare. Superb.
