ROMAN REPUBLIC Lollius Palicanus. Denarius ND (45 BC), Rome. Av. LIBERTATIS. Bust of Liberty facing right, wearing a pearl necklace. Rev. PALIKANVS. View of the Rostra in the Roman Forum, surmounted by a subsellium (tribune’s bench). The Rostra consist of a platform supported by an arcade, with each column adorned with a rostrum. RRC.473/1; Silver – 3.88 g – 18 mm – 12 h Acquired from Bourgey in 2012. On a slightly irregular flan, the strike is slightly offset on the obverse. The reverse is perfectly preserved. With a grey patina, showing iridescent highlights on the reverse. Very Fine to Superb / Superb.
