Description
ROMAN EMPIRE - ROMAN Nero (54–68). Denarius ND (64–65), Rome. Obv. NERO CAESAR - AVGVSTVS. Laureate bust facing right. Rev. IVPPITER - CVSTOS. Jupiter seated on the left on a throne, holding a sceptre in his left hand and a thunderbolt in his right. RIC.53; Silver – 3.64 g – 17.5 mm – 6 h Acquired from Pater in 2012. The strike is slightly off-centre, with a minor flaw in the blank on the reverse. Fine relief, with minimal circulation wear and a light patina. Almost Superb.
