Description
ROMAN EMPIRE - ROMAN Nero (54–68). Denarius ND (65–66), Rome. Obverse: NERO CAESAR – AVGVSTVS. Laureate bust facing right. Rev. VESTA. Hexastyle Temple of Vesta, surmounted by a circular dome, and set on a platform of four steps; a statue of Vesta holding a sceptre and a patera in the centre. RIC.62; Silver – 3.54 g – 17 mm – 6 h Acquired from Crinon in March 2002. Minted on a small blank, with a centred strike. Small rust stain on the reverse. TTB.
