ROMAN EMPIRE - ROMAN Domitian (81–96). As ND (88–89), Rome. Obverse: IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VIII CENS PER P P. Laureate bust facing right. Rev. COS XIIII – LVD SAEC FEC/ SC. The emperor, draped, standing on the left, making a sacrifice at a lit altar in front of the hexastyle temple of Jupiter Stator. On the left, a lyre player and a flute player. RIC.385a v.; Bronze – 12.34 g – 28.5 mm – 6 h Acquired from J. Elsen in 2016. With a black patina. Almost superb.
