ROMAN EMPIRE - ROMAN Trajan (98–117). Denarius ND (112–117), Rome. Obverse: IMP CAES NER TRAIAN OPTIM AVG GERM DAC. Laureate bust facing right. Rev. PARTHICO P M TR – [P COS VI P P] S P Q R. Mars advancing to the right, wearing a helmet, holding a spear in his right hand and a trophy on his shoulder with his left hand. RIC.329 (H4); Silver – 3.32 g – 17.5 mm – 7 h Acquired from Bourgey in 2022. The strike is slightly off-centre on the reverse. Very attractive iridescent grey patina. Superb.
