Sicily, Messina. ND tetradrachm (420–413 BC), Messina (Messana).
Obverse: The nymph Messena, clad in a long chiton, driving a pair of mules to the right; a Victory figure with a crown holding the reins; in the exergue: two dolphins facing each other.
Reverse: ΜΕ-Σ-Σ-Α-ΝΙΟ-Ν. A leaping hare to the right, a swimming dolphin to the right below.

Slightly irregular blank, barely rubbed. Well centred and close to its mint condition, with a slightly iridescent collector’s patina. Superb.
