Ptolemaic Kingdom, Ptolemy II (283–246 BC). Decadrachm for Arsinoe II Philadelphus ND (249–245 BC), Alexandria.
Obverse: Veiled bust of Arsinoe, deified, wearing a diadem, facing right; control mark on the reverse.
Reverse: APΣINOHΣ ΦIΛAΔEΛΦOY. Double cornucopia with the royal diadem.

NGC Ch VF 5/5 1/5 smoothing edge filing edge marks (2183766-023).
With control mark ΩΩ. The fields are slightly corroded and scraped, with an antique patina. TB / TTB.
Arsinoe II Philadelphus died on 9 July 270 BC. Immediately afterwards, Ptolemy II introduced a coinage in her honour consisting of silver decadrachms, bearing the deified effigy of the queen on the obverse. This impressive coinage was worth one-tenth of the gold mnaieion and continued until around 241 BC. Svoronos believed that the control letters, which form a fine series, were dates, but H. A. Troxell was able to demonstrate that they are mint marks.
