Massilia – Marseille. Hemiobolus featuring a lion devouring prey on the left, ND (500–470 BC), Marseille.
Obverse: Protome of a lion on the left, devouring prey.
Reverse: Hollow square with ‘windmill wings’ design.
Dicomon OBA-Ub – Furtwängler Ub – LT.497; Silver – 0.71 g – 8 mm – 12 h
Type from the Auriol hoard discovered in 1867.
With the ‘mill-wings’ cross on the reverse. Beautiful grey patina. Very Good to Superb.
