GAUL - CELTIC Namnetes. Small-headed stater, Class II ND (late 2nd – early 1st century BC). Obverse: Profile to the right, with hair topped by two heavy locks in opposing crescent shapes; beaded cords around the effigy. In front of the face, a sort of vertical yoke. Reverse: Androcephalic horse on the right, driven by its charioteer raising a disproportionately large hand. Below, a hippophore figure facing forwards, head turned to the right. DT.2200 - LT.6723; Billon – 7.12 g – 22.5 mm – 10 h Analysis shows a composition of 57 per cent copper, 30 per cent silver and 9 per cent gold. With a dark patina. TTB.
