GAUL - CELTIC Ambiens. Bronze ‘Ambiani common fund’, Class IV, depicting a head in full face and a horse on the reverse (1st century BC). Obverse Human head facing forwards, wearing a helmet surmounted by two horns, with two S-shaped locks of hair at the sides and several beaded strands beneath the mouth. Reverse: Horse facing right, head raised, front legs bent, with a bird-of-prey charioteer on the rump. DT.400 – Scheers 371; Bronze – 1.99 g – 14 mm – 8 h With an emerald-green patina. This specimen is in excellent condition and displays numerous details. Superb.
