NGC CH XF 4/5 3/5 brushed (6645987-010). Beautifully struck, well centred. The reverse is intact, in high relief, with fine detail. Beautiful patina with faint golden highlights. Superb. According to Virgil’s *Aeneid*, Aeneas fled the city of Troy carrying his lame father, Anchises. They arrived in Italy, where their descendants, Romulus and Remus, would go on to found Rome.
