ROMAN REPUBLIC Julius Caesar (60–44 BC). Denarius ND (46–45 BC), Spain. Obverse: Draped bust of Venus wearing a diadem, facing left, with a small Cupid on her right shoulder and a sceptre on her left; in front of her, a lituus. Reverse: CAESAR. A trophy consisting of Gallic weapons flanked by two captives; the man on the right with his hands bound behind his back and the woman on the left, seated facing left, in a sorrowful pose. RRC.468/2 - RCV.1405; Silver – 3.6 g – 18.5 mm – 2 h NGC VF 4/5 4/5 (2183766-020). The reverse is slightly concave and the strike is slightly off-centre. Even wear, particularly on the obverse.
