Caracalla (198–217). Aureus ND (203), Rome.
Obverse: ANTON P AVG PON – TR P VI COS. Laureate bust facing right, with the remnant of the aegis on the left shoulder.
Reverse: VIR – TVS – AVGG. Caracalla standing on the left, in military dress, holding a victoriola and a spear, crowned by Minerva (or Roma) behind him, holding a spear.
Calicó 2845 (same dies) – RIC.73; Gold – 7.31 g - 20 mm - 12 o’clock

Well centred with a fine scene on the reverse, in high relief and highly detailed. The fields are barely worn with hairline scratches. A light golden patina is forming. Rare. Superb, in mint condition.
