Valentinian I (364–375). Solidus ND (364–367), Thessaloniki.
Obv. D N VALENTINI – ANVS P F AVG. Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust facing left, holding the mappa and a sceptre.
Rev. SALVS – REIP / SMTES. The Emperor, wearing a diadem, standing facing left in military attire, holding the labarum in his right hand and with his head thrown back towards a Victory figure standing on a globe in his left hand, who is crowning him; his right foot rests on a captive on the ground; a star in the field on the right.
