Obv. D N MAG MA – XIMVS P F AVG. Bust wearing a diadem, draped and clad in armour, facing right.
Rev. VICTOR - IA AVGG / TR OB. Magnus Maximus and Theodosius I seated facing forwards, jointly holding a globe between them; above, a Victory facing forwards; below, a palm branch.

May have come from the collection of Sir Charles William Chadwick Oman (1860–1946); subsequently, the collection of Frederick S. Knobloch, Stack’s auction, 5 May 1984, lot 1460; subsequently in the collection of William H. Williams, Triton VI auction, 14 January 2003, lot 1124; and finally in the Triton XXVII auction, 9 January 2024, lot 926.
Minor die flaws. A few fine scratches and circulation marks on the obverse. The reverse is well-preserved with a fine golden patina. Superb / Superb, near-mint condition.
