GERMANY Württemberg, Wilhelm II (1891–1918). 5 (fünf) mark trial coin, on a small gold blank, 1905, F, Stuttgart. Obverse: WILHELM II KOENIG VON WUERTTEMBERG. Bare head facing right; below (mint mark). Reverse: DEUTSCHES REICH (date). Crowned eagle with outspread wings, below * FÜNF MARK *. AKS.143 (this specimen recorded?) – Schaaf 176, before M7; Gold – 52.02 g – 34.5 mm – 12 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! From the B. collection, L. Ciani auction, 15 February 1937, lot 141. NGC MS 62 (2175169-004). A trial coin with a diameter of less than 35 mm, featuring the edge inscription in intaglio: GOTT MIT UNS. Small bag marks on the obverse. With a golden patina on the obverse and a bronze-gold patina on the reverse. Extremely rare, with only a few examples known.
